Reid Temple Christian Academy has achieved full accreditation status through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) as well as by Middle States Association (MSA).

“The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) is a Christian educational organization. We advance excellence in Christian schools by enhancing the professional and personal development of Christian educators and providing vital support functions for Christian schools.”

Middle States Overview
 “The Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) - among the premier accrediting associations in the world - pioneered the accreditation of colleges and schools in the United States more than a century ago.”

“Accreditation is a valuable and prestigious achievement among traditional and nontraditional schools, colleges and universities throughout the world. The U.S. Department of Education recognizes accrediting or state approval agencies, including Middle States Association, as a "reliable authority as to the quality of education.”

Reid Temple Christian Academy is commended for:

  1. Their judicious and intentional development of the overall academic program and their commitment to and progress in attaining excellence in achieving their academic goals.
  2. Achieving an extraordinarily high percentage of parent and volunteer participation and input in the school community.
  3. Demonstrating their commitment to the professional development of its faculty and staff evidenced by the time and financial support allotted to these opportunities.
  4. Providing faculty and staff compensation that is comparable to public schools in the area.
  5. Extensively researching the viability of a Mandarin Immersion program for the school and subsequently implementing it as an option for students in Kindergarten through Grade 3.
  6. Providing nutritious, healthy lunches that exceed Health Department standards in overall quality.

Major Recommendations
It is recommended that Reid Temple Christian Academy:

  1. Review the board manual to ensure that it contains current policies and practices, andmake appropriate revisions to guarantee adherence to proper Christian school boardgovernance protocol. (Completed August 2012)
  2. Investigate the representation, allocation, and usage of the endowment fund to ensure its proper and legal allocation (usage of only the interest earned) for designated purposesonly. (Completed August 2012)
  3. Insure that active, child-directed activities are included within daily lesson plans androutines. Such activities will occur during dramatic play, creative and discoveryexperiences, and indoor and outdoor play. (Completed July 2012)
  4. Develop and implement a comprehensive school-wide technology plan representative of the emphasis of the school on technology, math and science to integrate throughout thecurriculum. (In process using a backwards curriculum design model to be completed May 2013)
  5. Develop a written and systematic Bible curriculum for grades 5 through 8, includingformative and summative assessments, to support current student outcomes. (In process using a backwards curriculum design model to be completed May 2013)
Student Eligibility
Students in Pre-Kindergarten 2 thru Grade 1 must meet the following age requirement: 

 

  • Pre K2 | Age 2 by September 1
  • Pre K3 | Age 3 by September 1
  • Pre K4 | Age 4 by September 1
  • Kindergarten | age 5 by September 1
  • Grade 1 | age 6 by September 1
  • Grade 2 - 8 | age will no longer be a factor in admissions
