New Executive Director of School Announced

The Reid Temple Christian Academy (RTCA) announces Mr. Michael A. Wilson as the new Executive Director of School.

Mr. Wilson's selection by the Board of Directors of the Academy comes after an exhaustive and competitive search. The Board has stated that he is the right person to move RTCA forward during a time of global uncertainty and a transitional time of new leadership. The Board believes he is well prepared for this position and brings a wealth of "hands on" experience, proven leadership capability and a broad knowledge in educational leadership and partnership development gained while successfully serving in senior leadership positions in both the public and charter school sectors.

Chairman of the Board, Dr. Mark E. Whitlock Jr. states, "Mr. Wilson was sent by God for such a time as this to inspire children to achieve academic excellence. We will miss Dr. Donnette Echols, founder of the Reid Temple Christian Academy."

Mr. Wilson is responsible for continuing and furthering the enhancement of RTCA's reputation for excellence, giving its students a world class academic and innovative education in a nurturing Christian environment as well as ensuring the continued success, achievements and legacy created and directed by former Head of School, Dr. Donnette Echols, sole person to serve as Head of School since RTCA was established over 18 years ago and prior to Mr. Wilson's appointment.

The Board and the community expresses their gratitude to Dr. Echols as she embarks on a new career in educational leadership and thanks her for her vision and unparalleled work at RTCA. The Board views Mr. Wilson as a powerful and persuasive communicator who is eager to begin what he excitedly considers his "dream job" as RTCA's next leader.
