Early Childhood Lead Teacher

Summary
The primary function of all RTCA Teachers is to be able to plan, implement and provide a learning experience that can advance the academic, emotional, social, and physical development of children within a safe, healthy learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver effective differentiated instruction that engages all learners
- Establish data-driven instructional goals for each student based on on-going assessments of student learning
- Implement strategies for managing classroom procedures and school-wide routines
- Engage and collaborate with parents to create and implement strategies for supporting student learning and development both at home and at school
- Actively participate in RTCA’s professional learning communities inclusive on ongoing professional development workshops, grade level/team meetings
- Create a positive, structured learning environment to ensure that students embrace the core values of RTCA including high expectations for all learners, respect, educational rigor, diversity, and global responsibility
- Maintain open communication with parents; inform parents about daily classroom routines, expectations, policies, field trips, and volunteer opportunities
- Provide additional academic support to students in school-based after school tutoring/enrichment programs
Qualifications/Requirements
- Current MSDE Teacher's Certification is desired, but not required
- At least two (2) years of experience working with young children
- Knowledge of the teaching/learning process in child development
- Ability to modify instruction to meet the individual needs of students
- Ability to exercise control and maintain classroom discipline
- Ability to provide activities for children that encourage healthy growth
- Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, staff, students, parents, and community
- Excellent oral, written, and human relations skills
- Comfortable with team-based work structure; ability to demonstrate flexibility on the job
Job Type: Full-time
Pay range: $50,000.00 – 55,000.00
Applicants who hold certification in CPR and 90 hours Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA), and a degree from accredited institution will receive priority consideration; all applicants must pass a MD State/ FBI background clearance, Medical clearance and Employment History Review.
