Mr. Michael A. Wilson, Executive Director of Reid Temple Christian Academy (RTCA) is all smiles under his mask as he receives donated Intel laptops from Mrs. Tameika Hollis, COO of One Illuminate. Director Wilson launched a S.T.E.M. writing contest for 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders to win the computers. Students must write a 250-word essay on "How winning a laptop/chrome book will help you in securing a STEM career?" See the STEM Writing Contest post for more details. If your organization would like to partner with RTCA or make a donation, please contact Ms. Pamela Waters at firstname.lastname@example.org or call on 301-860-6570 x111.
In an increasingly global, technological economy, students must be academically strong and able to work comfortably with people from other cultures, solve problems creatively, write and speak well, and think in a multidisciplinary way.
RTCA develops global Christian citizens equipped to positively impact the world through excellence. Students learn to honor God, respect themselves and others, be ready to learn, and represent Christ. It is the Conqueror's Way!
RTCA offers a rigorous C-STEM curriculum using the most innovative instructional tools. We seek to stimulate the young minds of scientists, astronauts, doctors, teachers, and mathematicians, with a firm and advanced learning foundation.
Students at RTCA are full of promise and potential! We nurture the gifts and talents of our students through various traditional and non-traditional extra-curricular programs throughout the year. RTCA's Adventures in Learning Summer Camp provides fun activities intertwined with exciting and diverse cultural "expeditions".

The Reid Temple Christian Academy (RTCA) announces Mr. Michael A. Wilson as the Executive Director of School.
Mr. Wilson's selection by the Board of Directors of the Academy comes after an exhaustive and competitive search. The Board has stated that he is the right person to move RTCA forward during a time of global uncertainty and a transitional time of new leadership. The Board believes he is well prepared for this position and brings a wealth of "hands on" experience, proven leadership capability and a broad knowledge in educational leadership and partnership development gained while successfully serving in senior leadership positions in both the public and charter school sectors.
Chairman of the Board, Dr. Mark E. Whitlock Jr. states, "Mr. Wilson was sent by God for such a time as this to inspire children to achieve academic excellence. We will miss Dr. Donnette Echols, founder of the Reid Temple Christian Academy."
Mr. Wilson is responsible for continuing and furthering the enhancement of RTCA's reputation for excellence, giving its students a world class academic and innovative education in a nurturing Christian environment as well as ensuring the continued success, achievements and legacy created and directed by former Head of School, Dr. Donnette Echols, sole person to serve as Head of School since RTCA was established over 18 years ago and prior to Mr. Wilson's appointment.
The Board and the community expresses their gratitude to Dr. Echols as she embarks on a new career in educational leadership and thanks her for her vision and unparalleled work at RTCA. The Board views Mr. Wilson as a powerful and persuasive communicator who is eager to begin what he excitedly considers his "dream job" as RTCA's next leader.
